Investment Coaching With Mark
Mark Howell is a recently retired Chartered Financial Planner with decades of experience in personal finance, including serving on an in-house Investment Committee. He has spent the majority of his career working at the highest level within a single firm, building deep expertise in financial planning and investment strategy.
Mark was also part of the pilot group that helped road-test the myfinancefuture cash flow tool, so he understands how it can be used as a practical sounding board for your financial plans and objectives.
Rather than stepping away from finance entirely, Mark has chosen to channel his knowledge and passion into part-time coaching, helping individuals navigate an increasingly complex financial world.
What makes Mark’s coaching different?
Where Ramin’s sessions focus on investment decisions and portfolio strategy, Mark brings the perspective of a career financial planner. His coaching is objectives-led, he starts from where you want to get to and works backwards, helping you think through whether your current approach is likely to get you there. Mark can also act act as a sounding board for your myfinancefuture cash flow plan, helping you stress-test your assumptions and make sense of the numbers.
Mark believes that even experienced, well-informed investors can benefit from tailored, one-to-one coaching. Some of the most common reasons people choose to speak with Mark are:
- A sounding board: “I've done my research but I'd like to talk it through with someone experienced”
- Building confidence: “I understand the basics but I'm not sure I'm thinking about this in the right way”
- Cutting through complexity: "There's so much information out there. I don't know where to start"
- Filling knowledge gaps:: "I keep hearing about … what does it actually mean for me?"
- Staying on track: "Am I missing anything important in the way I'm approaching my finances?"
- Financial Advisors: "Since you were an advisor what should I look for when selecting my advisor?"
- Tax information: "I don't know how my investments are affected by tax, what should I look out for?"
What is Investment Coaching?
Investment coaching is not the same as Financial Advice.
The goal of an investment coach is to empower you to make better investment decisions but the actual investments you choose are completely up to you.
Many people come to Ramin and Mark after trying to invest for themselves but finding they are lacking in the confidence or knowledge to successfully build their own portfolio.
Others may have had a financial advisor manage their investments but they have realised that they are paying unnecessarily high fees for achieving less than satisfactory results and want to manage their own investments.
Investment coaching is different from financial advice – it is about giving you the knowledge, skills and confidence to take control of your money and make it work for you in the best possible way.
